Jamie Gamble, Senior Counsel and Director of the Justice Index Project, has been working with NCAJ on a pro bono basis since 2013. As Director of the Justice Index project, Jamie has been integral to developing the Justice Index research methodologies, coordinating the work of NCAJ’s pro bono research partners and working with outside experts to develop and refine the “best practices” that lie at the heart of the Index. Jamie also works with state officials and reform advocates to assist their use of the Justice Index in improving court systems. In addition to his work on the Justice Index, Jamie advises the Executive Director and helps to guide all of NCAJ’s activities. Jamie was a litigation partner of Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP, from which he retired in December 2010. During his 14 years at Simpson Thacher, Jamie focused his practice on areas of Corporate Governance, Federal Securities Law and internal investigations. Jamie also represented clients in numerous litigations. On a pro bono basis, Jamie has worked with the Natural Resources Defense Council, the Brennan Center for Justice at New York University School of Law on matters relating to election finance, and a number of other organizations. Jamie is a 1994 graduate of Columbia Law School (JD) and Columbia Business School (MBA – Finance).
